The Story behind "Eight & Bob"
In 1937, on the French Riviera, French aristocrat Albert Fouquet met a young John F. Kennedy. Fascinated by Albert’s scent, JFK was gifted a bottle of the cologne. Upon returning to the United States, Kennedy wrote a letter thanking him and requesting eight samples of the fragrance, "and if your production allows, another one for Bob."
Albert meticulously prepared the order in unique glass bottles found in a Parisian pharmacy, labeling them "Eight & Bob" after John's amusing request. Thanks to JFK's father and his close connections to Hollywood, the fragrance quickly became a hidden success among film stars and producers, including Cary Grant and James Stewart.
Following Albert’s tragic death in a car accident in 1939 and the outbreak of World War II, his butler Philippe hid the final shipments inside hand-cut books to prevent Nazi custom officers from seizing the precious bottles. Decades later, the original formula has been fully recovered and relaunched according to Albert's refined, artisanal protocol.
