Juliette Has A Gun at Parfuma
Juliette Has A Gun was founded in 2006 by Romano Ricci, great-grandson of Nina Ricci and grandson of Robert Ricci, the nose behind the legendary L'Air du Temps. Rather than building on that heritage, he chose his own independent path. The name refers to Shakespeare's Juliet, brought into the 21st century: passionate, independent and with her perfume as a weapon of seduction. Not a Perfume is the cult product of the brand. Unlike classic perfumes with a note pyramid, Not a Perfume is composed of a single molecule: Cetalox, also known as Ambroxan. The result is a clean, musky and slightly woody skin scent that reveals itself differently on every person and is entirely allergen-free. Romano Ricci: 'it is minimalist, elegant and pure'.
This is normal and relates to how Ambroxan/Cetalox works. Some people are naturally less sensitive to this specific molecule and cannot smell it or barely notice it on their own skin, while others experience it very strongly. Others cannot smell the perfume on themselves but the people around them can. This is a well-known phenomenon with single-molecule perfumes. Try it with a sample before buying a bottle.
Both are built around the same Cetalox molecule, but the Superdose contains a higher concentration. This translates into a longer and more noticeable trail on the skin. If you cannot smell Not a Perfume or barely notice it on yourself, the Superdose can be a good choice.
A large part of the collection is unisex, including Not a Perfume, Superdose and many of the newer fragrances. Powder Love is more feminine, but the brand fundamentally believes that fragrance has no gender.
