Environ was founded in 1990 by South African plastic surgeon Dr. Des Fernandes. Already in the 1980s he studied the role of vitamin A in the skin and was among the first to use vitamin A and antioxidants in cosmetic skincare. This makes Environ a pioneer within cosmeceuticals, skincare with a distinctly scientific background. That origin still defines the brand today. Environ favours considered formulas and an approach grounded in knowledge and consistency. Every product is independently tested by the Swiss Vitamin Institute, which verifies that the claimed vitamin content is actually present in the product. The Environ Ranges

Environ offers two sun protection products, RAD and RAD SHIELD, both with SPF15 and SPF20. The brand reasons that the difference in protection between SPF15 and SPF50 is small: SPF15 offers 95 to 97 percent protection, SPF50 around 97 to 98 percent.
