8 MUST-DO'S FOR OPTIMAL PROTECTION:

1. Reapply your sunscreen every 2 hours to stay protected.

2. Use a generous amount per body part (2 teaspoons for arms and shoulders).

3. Always check the shelf life of the product before applying it.

4. Protect your scalp too, especially if you have little and/or blonde hair.

5. Always choose a product with UVA and UVB protection.

6. Apply your SPF at least half an hour before you are exposed to the sun.

7. Don't forget your lips and go for a lip balm with SPF in it.

8. Always apply sunscreen even if you are indoors all day. Windows let in UVA rays.

How to choose the right filter? A chemical or physical (mineral) sunscreen each has its advantages. So it is definitely useful to know the difference! A chemical filter is absorbed into the skin, whereas a physical (mineral) filter remains on the skin.

Are you looking for a waterproof sun protection? Then you are better off with a chemical filter. However, if you have a sensitive skin, you should look for a product with a physical (mineral) filter!
